After I had booked online with Allegiant Airlines and was ready to pay online, Travel Advantage offer appeared--the famous $1.00 "Free Trial" period enrollment fee in order to receive (2) $25 rebates per one-way travel leg. I thought it would credit me the amount at that moment....and that later I would receive a package in the mail with all of their travel special offers(cruises, airline tickets, hotels, etc.).

It did not!...it billed me the $1.00--then in essence did a "Wham! Bam! Thank You, Ma'am!" and put me back in queue to bill my credit card the FULL AMOUNT for the airfare!

I was annoyed!....but thought 'Hey...it's only a buck!...I'll wait and see what package they'll send me and what other offer's/services they'll have. If I don't like it, I'll cancel immediatly!'

NOTHING DOING! NO PACKAGE...only a reoccurring bill of $16.99! Then the headache of trying to cancel....how many phones calls where the office was closed or I was put into a queue where no one answered....then disconnected! Then more frustration...then LIFE HAPPENS...next thing you know months go by and you are out LOTS of DO-REY-ME!

...AND NEVER ONCE USED THE SERVICE!!

Here it is many, many months later and finally TONIGHT, MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2014, AT AROUND 6:10 P.M., I got through to what I thought was Travelers Advantage, but it turned out to be just a call center in Southern California--spoke to a Jason (Employee#47671) who canceled my account at approximately 6:17 P.M.

However he said he could not issue any refund but could see when I had enrolled (Aug2012). He said refunds are handled through another department. He would NOT give me his company's name, NOR his supervisor's name, NOR the name of the person who signs his paycheck...but said he'd transfer me to Travelers Advantage supervisors. He finally admitted he just works in a call center in Southern Cal. I told him the Attorney General for the State of California had a different opinion as to whether he could withhold his company's name from me! He still refused and then said he was transferring me to a supervisor who could assist me with the matter.

After only a few minutes of being on hold and rerouted automatically (click, click, click)-- instead of being on hold "forever" and then disconnected, I got through to a REAL LIVE TALKING-AND-THINKING PERSON!!!--RARE THESE DAYS! (Monday must be a good night to call!). NOT ONLY WAS HE THINKING, BUT HE WAS KIND, COMPASSIONATE-SOUNDING AND HAD A REAL NAME: Reginald McPherson with Travelers AdvantagE.

Reginald listened to my story with honest-sounding compassion(he said he'd been working for the company for 3 1/2 years). After he listened and asked questions, he at first offered me a 6 month refund....then when I said it was insufficient--that I wouldn't be happy unless I received a full refund--he said he would have to speak to a supervisor who could authorize more. He asked me if he could put me on hold for 20 seconds...came back after about 20 seconds or less and said that the supervisor authorized a TOTAL REFUND TO MY CREDIT CARD! (I'M GLAD THAT I DID NOT USE A DEBIT CARD!)...AND THAT I'D HAVE THE TOTAL REFUND WITHIN 7 BUSINESS DAYS--BY OCTOBER 1ST. (I will be watching my credit card account like a hawk!).

Thank you Reginald and thank you Reginald's Supervisor, and thank you CEO Todd Seigel for FINALLY solving my complaint!!

The parent company is Trilegiant and it has been in business for 40 years! I can see why they've been around so long since they make good on their promises of 100% satisfaction or your money back! --a company that will do what it says in their advertising! What a concept!...and what a rarity! (but it still shouldn't have taken this long to solve the problem!)

Reviewer number 537453, thank you so much! I was looking through all my papers they sent me and I couldn't find a cancellation phone number.

I Googled it and ran into all the bad publicity and thought I should just cancel my credit card instead of going through the headaches of being on hold and getting the run-around. That would have been a headache in itself because all of my bills are tied to one credit card. I decided to try calling first and Reginald McPherson answered my call within 2 minutes. He didn't ask any questions and immediately cancelled the Travelers Advantage and the Shoppers Advantage.

He is refunding my last month's payment without being asked. Fortunately I had just signed up last month. He issued cancellation numbers on both programs. I was on the phone with him less than 5 minutes.

Once again, thank you so much for providing the direct line to Mr. McPherson.
